Delivery Terms

Port-to-Port, DDU or DDP?

Port-to-port: international freight ends at the agreed US port.

DDU / DAP: delivery is arranged while the buyer normally remains responsible for US import duties and taxes under the agreed terms.

DDP: a landed solution requiring clear agreement on importer-of-record, customs, duty, tax and delivery responsibilities.

DDP availability depends on product compliance, importer arrangements and destination requirements.

US Import Compliance

AMS, ISF and Customs Clearance

US ocean imports require advance cargo information. Importer Security Filing, commonly called ISF or “10+2,” applies to cargo arriving by vessel and must be handled within CBP requirements.

Commercial importers should also confirm the importer number, customs bond, tariff classification, valuation, country of origin and any product-specific agency rules before shipment.

ISF “10+2”

Advance filing for applicable vessel cargo. Accurate supplier, manufacturer, buyer and shipment data are required.

AMS Data

Carrier or filing-agent manifest data must match the shipping documents and cargo information.

Customs Bond

A single-entry or continuous bond may be required depending on value, frequency and commodity.

Other Agencies

FDA, USDA, EPA, FCC, DOT or other agency requirements may apply according to the product.

Prepare Before Shipping

Documents for Shipping to the USA

Document requirements depend on the cargo and import program, but most commercial shipments require consistent trade, transport and customs information.

BRF SHIPPING can review document consistency and coordinate shipment data. The exporter, importer and customs broker retain their respective legal compliance responsibilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

China to USA Shipping FAQ

How long does shipping from China to the USA take?

Ocean freight is commonly about 12–42 days port-to-port depending on the US coast and service. Air freight is often about 3–8 days. Pickup, customs and inland delivery add time.

What is the difference between FCL and LCL?

FCL reserves a full container for one shipper. LCL combines your cargo with other shipments and is usually suitable for smaller volumes. Compare total local charges and handling, not only the ocean rate.

What is ISF 10+2?

Importer Security Filing is a CBP advance-data requirement for applicable cargo arriving in the United States by vessel. The US importer should coordinate timely and accurate filing with the responsible filing party.

Can BRF SHIPPING collect from multiple Chinese suppliers?

Yes. We can arrange supplier pickup, China warehouse receiving, consolidation, repacking, palletizing and combined FCL or LCL shipping.

Can you deliver to an Amazon FBA warehouse?

Yes, selected shipments can be labeled, palletized and delivered to Amazon FBA centers with delivery appointments. Amazon requirements should be confirmed before origin loading.

Can you provide DDP shipping to the USA?

DDP may be available after confirming the cargo, importer-of-record arrangement, customs compliance, duties, taxes and delivery address.

Is a US customs bond required?

A customs bond may be required depending on shipment value, commodity and entry type. The US importer should confirm the appropriate bond with a licensed customs broker.
